"fly on the wall" blog #3

As I sat and thought about the location that I wanted to observe, a few different ideas came to mind. my first thought was to go to a coffee shop, second was a park. To me, these were all typical places that would have a lot going on at one time, but little did I know that I was already at my "location". As I sat in my chair, the smell of diesel, accompanied by the sound of heavy machinery and the clanking of moving belts and chains surrounded me. The sounds filling my ears reminded me of a factory or even a workshop. A shrill alarm set of what seemed to be every 10 minutes along side of a constant beep. The beep was similar to a sound a moving van or truck makes as it is placed into reverse. I also heard the sound of men yelling "oooowww!" accompanied by an occasional whistle. All these sounds, mixed together, it what you get when you work at an organization such as FedEx Ground! :)
